First of all, go to the doctor or athletic trainer. They will let you know whether you are able to run. You should NOT run on a stressed joint and/or muscle, because you can injure it further and injure other parts of your body as well as a result of overcompensation.

Do NOT use masking tape for medical purposes. It's not designed to support injured muscles or for joint support--it is thin, it is not breathable, and it has no flexibility whatsoever. It's simply not for that purpose.
Do not use masking tape on your skin, it may be irritating. Besides the tape may rip, and it won't give with movement or let your skin breathe.
Masking tape is for painting - Athletic tape is made for sprains.
no u probly shouldnt cus it will hurt like hell when you take it off it it will cut your circulation
