When the air mask in a airplane deploy i heard something about you hallucinate due to something?

im probley wrong but??When the air mask in a airplane deploy i heard something about you hallucinate due to something?
You will not hallucinate. They are simply providing you with extra oxygen, something you breathe anyway.

I will disagree with everyone saying if you don't put them on very quickly you will pass out. This would only happen if there was a huge hole in the fuselage of the plane. If it was a normal decompression, as I have had before, you will not pass out for quite a few minutes. In most airplanes, the pressurization system keeps the altitude at around 5-7000 feet on a normal flight. When the system fails and you start to depressurize, there is a limit switch that will only allow the cabin to reach a limit of around 14,500 feet. This is accomplished by basically closing the pressure outflow valves and freezing the pressure in the cabin. Kind of like pinching off a balloon and keeping the air that is there in there. At that altitude you can breathe comfortably for 30 minutes or so. That is plenty of time for the crew to descend the airplane to a safe altitude for you to take off the mask.

Yes, it is a little unnerving to have the mask hanging in front of you, but just relax and calmly put the mask on until the Flight Attendant tells you it is ok to take it off. When the air mask in a airplane deploy i heard something about you hallucinate due to something?
No, it just gives you extra oxygen in case the cabin loses pressure. Better hope you won't crash.
No, no hallucinations, At least from the oxygen on the plane.

What you may not realize is the amount of oxygen coming through the line will not keep you conscious at high flight levels. So if the airplane loses cabin pressure at 35000 feet, and the masks drop, you only have a short time to put them on before you will pass out due to lack of oxygen. Even then, you may pass out, but will be kept alive and will be totally safe until the plane descends and cabin pressure is restored.
No but if you dont put it on within around lets say 30seconds you are going to pass out since the only reason the mask come down is because there was a loss of cabin pressure in the plane. So that means if the plane is above lets says around 15,000feet you wont have enough oxygen to breath normally and you will pass out.
