Which versions of Photoshop have masking?

I want to purchase photoshop. Specifically for masking. I don't want to end up getting one which doesn't have it and would be really grateful to know which versions for sure have itWhich versions of Photoshop have masking?
If I recall correctly, masking came along when layers came out which was around version 3. So any current version you could buy will be fine.

Take a look at this cool release history to see what else has been added - it can help you decide how far back you'd want to go.
