Why does Rey Mysterio wrestle with a mask on when the WWE holds shows in Mexico?

Rey Mysterio lost his mask in a hair vs. mask match in WCW, and Mexican wrestling association rules are that if you lose your mask in a match you are not allowed to wrestle with it on again. The WCW thing was pushed under the rug has it should have been. WCW made too many mistakes. I am glad WWE brought him back and with the mask. Rey with out the mask just isn't the same. The Mexican wrestlers and fans feel the same way!!

I don't know. I saw him before with his mask off and he is not bad looking at all. I think he is now the only wrestler in wwe wearing a mask.
BECAUSE WHEN WWE SIGNED HIM THEY WANTED HIM TO WEAR A MASK. THEY HAD TROUBLE WITH THAT BECAUSE THE RULE IS WHEN YOU LOSE YOUR MASK YOU CANT WEAR IT. SO THEY HAD TO TALK TO THE COMMISIONERS AND THEY AGREED THAY REY REY WOULD ONLY WEAR IT IN THE STATES AND NOT IN MEXICO.... HOWEVER IN HIS TRIP TO MEXICO HE WAS WEARING HIS MASK.... I GUESS HE GOT SO POPULAR IN MEXICO THAT THEY DIDNT CARE ANY MORE..... =] I LVOE REY REY!! =]
Because when he was signed to WWE they wanted him to wrestle with his mask on. In Mexico, wrestling with your mask on is GOOD because some mexicans are masked wrestlers.
Since its like a traditon wears diffrent mask everytime. But when they wrestle in mexico he uses a mask he alredy used.
in mexico the masks are a big thing its not just gimmick is a hge part of the lucha libra wrestling so to stay with the culture they wear there masks it was the USa ahd them take ther emasks off which was stupid killed the mystique
Masked fighters are always renown and mysterious. It's the biggest part of that aspect, it's a disgrace to have your mask removed. As Mysterio is not under contract in Mexico, but under WWE (As far as I know.) he is exempt. On the topic, that is part of what pisses me off -- the WWE act like big shots storm into Japan or Mexico and rather than do cross promotional events (to boost both mutually) they just rent out a place and put on their own show.
