Hours after announcing that she had bought her husband a 拢10,000 Cartier watch for Christmas, the wife of England footballer Steven Gerrard was confronted by four masked burglars.


Well of course it's her fault she's only the victim after all ,it cant possible be the burgars fault because they only belong to the ';you've got I want it brigade';this attitude towards victims makes me sick.Did Alex Curran tip off masked raiders by bragging of her 拢10,000 watch for husband Gerrard?
Doe's it matter whether the watch was 拢10.00 or 拢10.000.

Of course it's partially her fault for being negligent. Just because you don't agree with that means nothing. I'm sure her insurers won't be at all happy about it. (And I am a Liverpool fan!).
It doesn't matter how rich, or how obnoxious, you are you don't deserve to be terrorised by thugs. Then again, and maybe I'm missing something here, I can't help but think I'd be a lot more cautious about leaving my wife and kids alone like that considering this isn't the first of these robberies that have occurred. It's not that they can't afford to employ security for the night. I've had my door smashed in by these kind of thieves and I'm far from wealthy and take all precautions within my my means.
In this day you cant go around bragging about what you have got, there will always be people who are jealous, but to go and tell people you have brought a 10,000 watch you are asking for trouble, i would be afraid to wear it, but then some people got money to waste.

On the same day? No I doubt it. It wasn't an opportunist burglar. That had to have been planned, plus, they knew Cartier watch or not, the Gerrards have lots of highly valuable items.
Living in a mansion is a tell tale sign you've got stuff worth stealing.

I don't think she need to tell anyone how much she has or what valuables she has. The burglars probably hadn't even heard about it.
I dont think it was wise for her to ';brag';, but ultimate responsibility for robbery is with the burglars, not her. She should feel free to say anything without the risk of being burgled.


They can go work like everybody else to earn their money without ';robbing';.No excuses for them at all.

footballers wifes will do anything for a bit of media attention even telling them what they have bought for xmas,sad,i am not saying its right to be burgled at all its pure nasty,but if they didnt crave attention all the time it might not happen....the police were there straight away,someone i know got burgled it took the police 3 hours to get there
She would have been burgled regardless. Have you not been keeping tally of how many Liverpool players have had their houses broken into?

A 10 grand watch? well. thats money well spent. Thats what **** me off about football. In Africa people have been known to have their arm hacked off to steal a watch. Makes you think doesnt it.
