Just used the blue masking tape from B%26amp;Q - recommend it.
B%26amp;Q also sell a tub of Adhesive Wipes which are EXCELLENT for removing glue from anything... use plastic gloves when you use them as I got an itchy rash on my hands from using them.Remove masking tape glue stuck to my upvc windows?
White Spirit
Pour some rubbing alcohol on a cloth %26amp; scrub away. No tape in the future is best.
The best products that will not harm the window frame and would get rid of the masking tape are Goo Gone or Goof Off. You can get them at Walmart or at Home Depot.
The best tape to use next time would be Painter';s Blue Tape. This tape is specially desing to stick to a variety of surfaces, but it will not leave any kind of residue.
Use a fresh box cutter razor to remove the tape, any remaining tape cement can be removed by using an acetone dampened rag. The best masking tape to use is painter's blue tape.
Baby oil takes off tape residue very well %26amp; it does not harm the windows. Put some baby oil on a paper towel %26amp; rub the glue off the windows. You may have to do this a few times.
Do not use masking tape on windows, in fact do not use masking tape on any kind of paint decorating. Use painters blue tape. It comes in various widths. It does not leave glue on surfaces. It's very good. It can be used on molding %26amp; trim when painting walls. It comes right off.
Hope this info helps.
I had the same problem and used my steam cleaner jet spray and it came off first time and left no marks.
Try Brasso, this works on other things, have used it to remove Marks left by sticks on a variety of services.
You can use some white spirit, but use gloves to protect your hands. It will not damage the UPVC.
There is a blue masking tape on the marked which can be bought from B%26amp;Q, which will not leave a glue residue.
Odorless paint thinner is about your only choice, and a rag and a fingertip/nail combined with a small scraper.
If tape won't stick to anything, then it is not tape. So you got to make up your mind - do you want sticky tape or not? Don't want to use glue on windows, well nails and screws leave holes. The choice is yours.
have you tried removing it with nail varnish remover?
Either 'Goo Gone' or 'Goof Off' fround in the local grocery, hardware, Wal mart, etc. is excellent. Both are great.
That will do it for you. Also, there is a tape to purchase, I have at Lowe's that does not leave a sticky residue on windows. Just ask the sales clerk.
good luck
White spirit should do the job. You can buy low contact masking tape, which leaves no residue
Try nail varnish remover.
Get a spray bottle of ';Goo Be Gone.'; It will work perfectly. That is a glue disolver solvent when sprayed on a price sticker, it will just lift off in a few minutes with no glue residue left behind either. It will work on that nasty masking tape glue, too.
